What does it mean to "describe the context of a quote"???

i have to do a project where i have to describe the context of a quote, and give details on the speaker and background of the quote..haha im too dum to understand wut i need to do

  1. It's basically asking you to explain the quote, how you understand it, & how to apply it. Start from there, then talk about the speaker & what they ask you to do.  Don't worry..it's part of life...you get to learn something new everyday. This will be one of them.


  2. describe what the quote means what is it saying

    for example

    " Romeo oh Romeo where for art thou Romeo!? Deny Thy father and refuse thy name..."

    what is Juliet saying? of course the obvious where are you romeo but what is the meaning or CONTEXT of what she is saying WHY is she saying it? does that make more sence? i hope i didnt confuse u more lol

  3. well start out with when it was written/said, what year, what other major events were going on at the time, think of the author/speaker and what was going on in their life at the time, where they were living, the literary context such as the style they chose to write in (if any), and why they would say/write what it was.
