What does it mean to synchronize music from your mp3 player to your computer?

My computer keeps asking me to synchronize my music everytime I plug my Creative Zen mp3 player in. Does this mean that it will update every time I connect it to the computer or what?

click the custom on the bottom of the screen it's a check box

Sync will just update the music on your mp3 player, It will only add more of your music.
