  1. Telecommuting means you mainly work from your home.  Most companies that support this require you to come to the office periodically for meetings, etc. with some predetermined frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.). The pros are no travel time and expense, and having greater control over your time and activiites. The cons are that this is not always effective for those who are not self disciplined or who are not able to work independently. It also gets lonely working by yourself and not interacting with others much during the day. Another disadvantage for some who do it is that you never "leave the office" with a home office, so may be inclined to work too much.
