What does it mean to train your tamagotchi.?

I have always wanted to know how to train your tamagotchi and what is the point of having a 100% on your bonds.

To train your tamagotchi you have to wait until it makes a weird beeping sound. Then when you look at the screen, your tamagotchi will have either a question, exclamation, or music mark above its head. That means that its finally calling for training. So then you go to the 6th icon and select one of the items for your tamagotchi to play with. That's it! You have just trained your tamagotchi! You don't have to have a 100% bonding. It doesn't really matter. It's really just something to make the version 5 more fun. Having 100% bonding will just let your tamagotchis have more options to do things with their family.
