  1. its not Cy

    its SIDE

so the pitcher struck out the other SIDE of the Dugout

  2. Struck out the side not CY

and that mean the pitcher struck out the three batters he faced that half inning

  3. He isn't saying he struck out the CY, he's saying he struck out the side, meaning that the first three batters of the inning were retired via strikeout.

  4. They say strike out the side. It means that the pitcher struck out 3 batters.

  5. He means struck out the side. That means he struck out three batters to end the inning without a hit.

  6. Well I only see one correct answer and that's the very first one, so don't get confused.  Striking out the side means all three outs came on a strikeout from the pitcher.  That does not mean that no one got a hit, or only three batters came to the plate.  There can be 20 batters come to the plate, 7 homeruns hit, and 10 walks.  But if the pitcher gets three strikeouts, then he indeed struck out the side.

  7. they struck out the first three batters in an inning

  8. lol; they are saying the struck out the side, they struck out all three batters

  9. It's not struck out the cy, it's struck out the side.... all three batters in an inning..

  10. It's struck out the side, not cy, and means that all three outs were strikeouts.

EDIT: Although certainly more dramatic, it isn't necessarily a 1-2-3 inning.  The other team can get hits and walks, and even score runs.  Just all three outs must be Ks.
