My brother-in-law laughed at me because I didn't know what a GT was. It's confusing because different car companies make GTs. What is does it mean when a car is called "GT"? What kind of things does it have on it that make it special? Who makes the best GT?

  1. It used to mean Grand Turismo but it has been put on so many cars that are obviously not GT's that the nomenclature is meaningless. Same thing applies to GTO. Only one company ever built a true GTO and that was Enzo Ferrari.

  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turism...

  3. Sports car GT=Gran Tursimo

    Luxury car GT=Grand Touring

Some of the best GT cars are the Porsche 911, Nissan GT-R, Maserati Gran Turismo, Jaguar XKR and Ferrari California.

GT cars are Coupes with back seats.

  4. grand tour

  5. Grand Turismo. First showed up in the '60's on Italian automobiles. It is usually a sporty version of the car line. For American cars I like the Mustang GT.

  6. Means "Gran Turismo" or "Grand Tourer". Suitable for cars like the Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari Scaglietti, Bentley Continental GT and cars alike that have a big engine upfront, 2 doors and seats 4 passengers. These cars are designed with long trips in complete comfort and quick pace. For the best GT in current production is the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti.

  7. gt means asthetic improves on a machine
