  1. Cruise ships cost a tremendous amount of money.Cruiselines find it cheaper to remodel rooms/decks/pools,even lengthen ships than build new ones. This in turn keeps cruise rates for the public from going thru the steam pipe,I mean the roof.

  2. It has been redone recently, they changed some things, added new ones, etc.

  3. It has had a minor refit, it could mean that the ship has had it's public area's redecorated or the cabins and passageways redecorated or it could mean a new facility fitted ( RCCL are fitting surf riders to some of their ships).  A public area refurbishment usually means new carpets and a clean up, passageways means new carpets. They don't do all the cabins at the same time, only some cabins get new mattresses, new carpets and new curtains, the remainder get done the next time the ship gets refurbished.

It's better to take a refurbished cruise, some areas have been upgraded and do not look so used.

  4. to bring something back to a cleaner, brighter, or more functional state

  5. They refurbish, they in prove the ships dressings, The rooms have new, better beds, new deck chairs, new kitchen, tables.  basically it is up dating the ships service and cabin areas; they mite or could add safety items as well. and over haul the engines and the elevators as well. HAVE FUN!

  6. It's been redone. It's the same ship, but there are new accessories, such as the tvs, beds, etc...It basically is remodeled. I have been on Royal Caribbean's Enchantment of the Seas right after it was refurbished and I think that was the largest ever cruise ship refurbish. They actually cut the ship in half and put it back together. It was really nice. I wasn't all that big, but it was nice.
