  1. It can be a few things.

Allergies is one and the first one that I would try to fix.

Meds are not the way to fix allergies.

If you are feeding a dog food that contains any of the following then switch to higher quality food.

    Corn

    Soy

    Wheat

    By-products

    Colors

    Chemical preservatives such as ethoxyquin

    Euthanasia drugs

    Menadione

Higher quality foods contain specific meat such as chicken or chicken meal, Grains are kept to a minimum, and it should be preserved naturally.

    High quality food:

    Evo(grain free)

    Innova

    Orijen(grain free)

    Wellness core(grain free)

Taste of the wild (grain free

    Blue Wilderness(grain free)

    blue buffalo

    Wellness

Your best choice is probably a grain free option or a raw homemade diet.

www.bigdogsporch.com is very good with dogs diets.

    www.rawmeatybones.com

    www.shirley-wellness-cafe.com

If you dog is under 18 months of age and is a giant breed of dog, stick with a high quality dog food that contains 23% protein or less.(does not apply to a raw diet)

solid gold mmelinia is a good brand if this is the case.

It could also be fleas. Check for fleas and if you do not see any check for mange, but usually when it is the paws, it is allergies from food.

  2. he needs a bath

    he needs his claws cut

or he has something stuck in there

  3. allergies. see your vet.

  4. Some dogs are compulsive lickers.  l*****g (supposedly) releases a brain chemical that makes them feel good.

If there's no injury, or allergy, then they're probably one of those compulsive types.  More activities and interaction can reduce this behavior.

EDIT:  A vet visit can't hurt.

  5. It could mean there's something stuck in his toes.  Some dogs l**k when the hair is too long on their feet.  It could be a way of dealing with anxiety.

  6. Generally allergies, which can be caused by diet or by vaccinations.  Check out these two groups on yahoo.com

You might find some answers there.

  7. allergies and/or boredom

  8. MY DOG HAS ALLERGIES BUT THEY DONT BOTHER HIS FEET BUT HE DOES l**k HIS FEET. MY VET SAYS HE JUST WANTS TO MAKE SURE HIS FEET ARE CLEAN
