Question:

What does it mean when a ghost turns a light on?

I have a touch lamp that I've had for about 10 years, one that turns on when you touch it. Ever since my grandmother died about 5 years ago, the light will turn on when no one touched it and I like to think that my grandmother is turning it on. Every month or so, I will come into my room when no one has been in there and find it on.

I've noticed it has been turned on more frequently in the past few months and I wonder if she could be trying to tell me something.

Does anyone know if there is any significance to a ghost turning on a light? Is that supposed to mean anything?

  1. So it doesn't trip over the ottoman in the dark.

  2. they are either letting you know of their exsistance or a sign of them trying to show you something or they are just messin with you getting a bit of a kick outta it

if it is your grandmother she may know you know its her and in turn she turns the light on as a way to say hello or she loves you.

  3. she or he is just trying to let you know they are there no harm in that as long as they are friendly. you should try seeing what it wants. mabey you can help it to the light

  4. Touch lights work on heat. If you touch it with something cold, it wont turn on. So techiniclly, ghosts are cold and she wouldnt be able to turn it on. I think...

  5. mayb the ghost is scared of the dark or it could be the electricity cuz i got a touch lamp too and mines does the same **** but the touch dont work nomore lmao

  6. Maybe she is saying hello.

  7. It could be that the light is not working properly.

  8. Maybe there's something she wants you to see...

  9. Uh--like it can't see in the dark?

  10. Could be grandma...but consider, could something else might be tripping the sensitive sensor? A fly? Moth?

I know that in the Stanley Hotel (of movie Shinning fame) has a room where the ghost of a maid is thought to turn on the light for guests since it is a bit of a dangerous, tight room and you can stub your toe at night. People thought the room had automatic lighting.

I'd try getting rid of the touch lamp feature and if it keeps turning on, then it might be grandma trying to simply let you know something. Like: still watching out for you kid. ;)
