  1. yes youre guinea pig is stressed and finds joy in pulling out his fur. move her to a less noisy part of the house and be very gentle with her. keep dogs and cats away from her too. just make her life very relaxed and worry free


  2. A guinea pig we had at school did this. The vet said it was a skin condition so she had medicine for it for a while but kept pulling her hair out. I think she might have been just bored or stressed. When I took her home she lived with another guinea pig and I noticed she didn't pull her hair out so much. Is your guinea pig by itself? Do you get it out to run around often? I'd suggest you take it to the vet to check that it hasn't got something wrong with it's skin or mites.

  3. make sure she is getting plenty of vitamin c, best to get from fresh veggies but you can provide a supplement also. Also make sure the cage is big enough so she is getting plenty of exercise.

  4. I've had dozens of guinea pigs and have never seen this. Maybe he is stressed out. Try turning the light off and leaving him alone. If it continues call a vet.

  5. Is she literally pulling her hair out in tufts? Or is she biting/itching at the fur and having it sheared down that way?

    If she's pulling out tufts of fur she may just be stressed. If she's biting at it she has either mites or lice, which are extremely common. Mites cannot be seen with the naked eye but are fatal if left untreated. Lice would present themselves as wriggling white insects in the shafts of hair. She needs to go to an exotics vet to be checked out and treated for possible parasites.
