Excellent question.  Yes not involved in horses at this time, my daddy for the last 30 years had in effect been practicising eugenics.  No explanation, just trying to get the best horse for the buck.  Larger question, extrapolation to people, the soul and for the atheists' (really no realigious slant) well, the soul, read as conscious, no one can foresee a Stephan Hawking.  Not against termination of pregancy.  Eugenics in animals called breeding.  For people look to the opposite extreme, extermination, Hitler.  One arbitrarily decides a ethinicity/race  not good enough, gone.  That's a higheer power's job, or evolution, either, logiocally does not stand the scrutiny of peers.  Good Question.  Will try to rate, but this site getting too arbitrary.

  3. Eugenics involves breeding to get the best offspring and matching sires and dams appropriately to increase the chance of producing high quality offspring. All horse breeders should be doing this.
