What does it mean when a job application asks for Letter of Interest and its under Qualifications

im applying to American Apparel and it asks this, but its just a sales position so theres no "musts" like a masters degree as there would be for lets says a managerial postion. im so confused haha

They don't want a resume. A listing of positions will not provide insight into your floor presence. Rather than choosing a candidate, they want to be "sold" by the applicant. Your best four or five bullet points should make a good full page "pitch".
