What does it mean when a link or website that you choose appear in another window instead of the same one?

Is it spyware or something else.

  1. It's not spyware. It is just that the designer of that website choose it that way.  When making websites, they got a choice wether the link will appear on another window or another tab or same window.  


  2. It isn't spy ware or anything like that. Its basically counted as a pop up window, so it opens in a separate window. Now sometimes it just something you have changed in the configuration of your web browser. I use firefox, and it basically under tools, options, and then tabs.

  3. The link carries the attribute "target=_blank" as part of it. That forces the link to open in a new window.

  4. It just means the designer of the site decided it would be more convenient for it to be displayed in a new browser window. They simply use XHTML to do this.

  5. all it means is, that instead of it appearing as another tab, in the window you are using currently, it will open a new one.

    no its no spyware, unless the link has a virus on it....

    but dw about that

  6. It means the person linking to that content decided it would best be displayed in it's own window.
