What does it mean when a person had orange or brown teeth?

I've seen people with teeth like this. I know it's from poor dental hygiene. The most common is yellow, but I've seen it so bad that I've seen orange or even worse, brown.

  1. This can be from taking tetracycline. An antibiotic that was used often before they found out that this should not be given to children who have yet to cut their permanent teeth. It discolors the teeth and nothing can be done to whiten them. Not even white strips.

I not only had this when I was a kid but the prosthodontist noticed that even my jaw bones are orange when they put in my dental implants. I was told this was from the tetracycline I took for acne as a youth.

  2. Its just really bad dental hygiene. And most likely the enamel is gone on their teeth. People that never brushed their teeth and it just slowly starts to decay and you end up looking like a witch, except the teeth are real.
