  1. i dont really know what its for but i do know that islation means that the bird is not allowed to be near anyone right now. the bird could be sick. good luck!

  2. They are sick. They buy their animals from breeding mills so they usually are. Find a rescue or shelter or at least a reputable breeder instead.

  3. Either the birds are ill and are being kept separate from others to heal and prevent whatever illness from spreading, or they may still be in quarantine.  Generally animals are kept separated from the population and not sold until they can make sure they are not carrying any illnesses.

  4. In the back away from all the other animals. Only staff can check on it. And it will not be brought out for a week or two. And during this time it should (sometimes they dont do this even though they are suppose to) be seen by a Vet.

  5. They meant that the pet might be going under some checkups and is currently not for sell yet. But sometimes it means it has been placed away from the other animals due to illness, behavior, or just regular checkups.

  6. ha i work at petsmart

it means exactly THIS- the birds just came in from the breeder. they are sent in little boxes in a freight.

we "isolate" them for 3-5 days to make sure they are healthy, then we put them on the sales floor.

    simple as that!

  7. i think they're just holding the birds in their cages for a short amount of time.

  8. The keep the new animals separate for a few days to make sure they are not sick before putting them with the rest of the animals....or it could be sick already and that is why it is separated

  9. Either they just got them or there is something wrong with them.  They separate them from the rest of the animals in order to either make sure they are healthy or to get them healthy.  Find out which one before you buy!

  10. They proboally found one dead .  They have to hold on to them for a couple days with out selling them incase there is some thing wrong with them all.  that would be kinda crummy if you bought one the same day and it died on you the next day.

  11. The animal is kept separate from the rest in a controlled environment for various reason, some of which could be that it is sick, or has had immunization shots when brought into the country which haven't kicked in fully, or even that it has had behavioural problems which required it to be separated.
