  1. Ok. A: Your swiming & look at the guy next to you

or B; you were amazing when u were 13 and now u cant get better at all and ur 17

  2. that first answer was WAYYY wrong.  a peak is the part of the season when you are dropping lots of time.  the peak usually comes after a taper

  3. Peak: there are two types of peaking, one means that a swimmer has reached their top performance level in the current season or year, the other is when a swimmer reaches their top performance level of their life, usually when they are a teen or a young adult, but not necessarily.

Taper: a taper is when a swimmer gradually reduces the amount of practice that they do, usually before a swim meet, a taper is designed to give a swimmer a peak during the swim meet.

  4. they are no longer getting faster and better and cutting time off their personal best.

  5. When a swimmer is at their peak, they are getting times that are the fastest they will ever get. For example, a 2004 Olympian that got their best time in Athens and hasn't dropped since was probably at their peak in 2004.
