What does it mean when a white dove appears in your presence?

My mom is very supersticious and today she went to backyard and saw a white dove on our wall. I went back there like 10 minutes later and it was still there. What does that mean when it just comes to your house or its in your presence out of no-where?

well becky, FYI a pigeon IS a dove, the common pigeon you see in city squares etc are descendants of rock doves that have become partially domesticated and the common wood pigeon is a ring dove.
All doves/pigeons lay only two eggs which are white in colour and they all make the distinctive 'cooing call'

my grandpa died a couple of years ago, and he had always wanted us to save our land and put a house on it, so we accomplished it and yesterday when we went to go put furniture in it, a white dove was just sitting on a light pole right beside our house looking at us and the surroundings!"it has been there for a couple of days our neighbors told us." what does this mean?is he watching over us?

Depending on the region you are in and the time of season, the white dove could be at your home for many reasons. Like many dove and pigeon species, the white dove mates for life and tends to visit the same locations annualy. I have a couple that stops at my house every year and they stay for about a month, feeding off the sunflowers in my garden. I also live on a lake which attracts many migratory bird species.

my son-n-law lost his baby brother age 25 yrs old a few weeks ago & b4 that his brother saw dove & than i think it was just a few days later he was in a car accident & passed away now his mom, his grandparents, & his girlfriend are all seeing a dove what does that mean?
