What does it mean when it says 'valid for great america 2008 public operating season?'?

i've been looking for season passes online and since summer's coming, i was wondering if when i buy it NOW, is the season pass only valid till summer comes? cuz i always thought it was for 1 season but my friend said it can be used for a year
