  1. Actually per diem means that the company is willing to pay you X amount of dollars extra to help with living expenses if you have to come from out of town.    My two boys get per diem and it is actually more than they make.    it is a pretty good thing.


  2. Per diem means that the work may not be regular. You wouldn't be full time or even a regular part time worker. They'd call you in when they need you to work. So, you're basically on call all the time and the pay isn't steady.

  3. It means you get paid by the day, so you might not have a regular work schedule. You'll just get paid for the days the employer needs you to work.

  4. It is daily work. You don't necessarily work every day, you work the days they need you or that you want to work.
