And how can you be able to job the whole time.

Like if it's a 4 mile jog, and you want to be able to jog the whole 4 miles without stopping?

How about for a 16 mile jog ?

Walking without stopping is extremely easy, just not jogging,

Also, what happens if you do not stretch before you jog?

  1. The short answer?  Your body needs more training to handle the workload of running/jogging.

Walking is "extremely easy" because it's an extremely efficient method of locomotion (moving from one place to another), which was perfected over millions of years of evolution.  For example, the pendulum motion of the free leg prepares it for the next step with almost no energy expenditure.  Also, when walking, the body is always supported on at least one leg, so little energy is spent to thrust the body upwards.

Running, on the other hand, is VERY energy-demanding.  You need to use the muscles on the front of the thigh (and inside the belly) to PULL the free leg forward with each step, or it wouldn't be there to catch you at the end of a step.  Also, much energy is needed to thrust the body upward, since it is airborne for a period with each step.

However, running comes in handy when one needs to get somewhere fast (at the cost of burning lots of energy).

Jogging is simply a slower form of running, but it's still inefficient in terms of energy use.

Finally, if you don't stretch, you increase the risks of sports injury.  Moreover, you'll be more "sore" if you don't stretch first.

If jogging is this important to you, "start low and start slow".  Your lungs, heart, and leg muscles will all slowly improve their  performance -- you just have to give them a chance -- and make jogging easier and easier with time.

    Good luck!
