  1. You are infected with spyware if:

    * You see too much pop-up advertisements.

    * Your browser has toolbars that you haven't installed.

    * Your homepage has changed (and you can't change it back).

    * Other settings have changed without your permission.

    * Your computer is slow.

To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you can use an antispyware or even more.

You can download a antispyware software. There are 10 good anti-spywares.

    here is the reviews: http://toptenantispywareviews.com/

You can download one and scan your system.

All are safe and can be trusted.

  2. Thats mean that McAfee had removed it.

to be sure that it is really remove, run a whole computer scan. should take about an hour or more.

Oh yea, when you are downloading something on limewire, be sure to scan it before opening, when the download is completed right click on the music and hit scan with McAfee and scan it, if McAfee didnt find anything you can safely play it, if it did find something, you need to remove it to the recycle bin, dont try to download the same song again, but the same song will have same problem.

  3. To put it simply, yes. Every time you go online unprotected cookies and tracking devices are installed on your computer. Spyware devices can be used to track your Internet behavior or can be employed for more threatening activities like recording your keystrokes to obtain passwords or pulling information from your personal files. So what can you do to avoid spyware?

Install a powerful anti-spyware program that works well with your XP or Vista security.

Avoid downloading free software without investigating the site's privacy policy first.

Don't open emails from unknown sources.

All can be trusted and you can download one to protect ur system.

  4. If an alert came up and said Mcafee blocked and removed a Trojan, it means that your virus scanner found out the file you was downloading was a virus so it blocked the virus and deleted/removed it.

If it wasn't removed Mcafee might've sent it to "quarantine" (I'm not sure because i have a different virus scanner, which does this sometimes) and from there you can probably delete it, if it wasn't already.
