  1. "never been down" stands for the motorcycle has always been upright. Both tires have never left the ground. Maybe one tire, but never both. :-)

The bike doesn't have any damages from falling over, crashing or being dropped.

As far as insurance cost, if you're getting a bike loan to pay for the bike and need insurance, then you're looking at about $80-$120 bucks a month, depending on your record/age/grades (if applies).

Otherwise, if you pay for the bike with cash or completely pay it off, just get a third party insurance so you cover yourself if you crash into someone/thing. Here in WA state, it's not required to have insurance on motorcycles. Unless you're loan requires you to have one.

Good luck on picking your bike, ride safe, and welcome to your freedom.

  2. never been laid down or crashed.....

motorcycle insurance varies from place to place, but dont pay more than 100 bucks per month

  3. Been Down means wrecked or dropped.  As everyone else has stated insurance is based on which bike you have, riding experience (age + actual time) location.  When I first got my ZX10 I had 10 years experience riding.  No insurance would touch me because of the bike except for State Farm. (clean record you name it)  I was 28 at the time.  If you are over 25 a good basis to compare insurance would be for 1000cc bike 80-100 a month 600cc 30-60 a month.

  4. usually means it has never been wrecked. insurance depends on you coverage, i know here in the midwest you can get coverage for only the months you ride it, hope this helps, good luck.

  5. It means that the bike has never been wrecked, dropped, laid over...

And if you are under 25, insurance is going to be sky high.  It depends on the engine size of the bike also.  If it's a 1000cc it be well over $200 a month for someone under 25.  If you are over 25 then they should be less than $100.  But, like I said, it depends on the size of the bike, if it's new or used, blah blah blah.
