What does it mean when my back hurts as a result of a sneeze?

I sneezed last night and now my back hurts really bad on my left side. i have been sick, but i thought i was getting better. is it my lungs?

  1. The whole body gets a jerk while you sneeze.If the pain is in your spine (most likely) the do not ignore it if it persists.Consult a physician as chances of a slip disc can not be ruled out.


  2. Sometimes sneezes pull muscles. It can be any muscle in the torso area, depending on how your are sitting, standing, ect.  I know a person that actually broke a rib sneezing. It's just a muscle, i wouldn't worry about it.

  3. you have probably pulled a muscle just in the one little sneeze!..poor you..it will of course disapear after a few days..you could try ice(first 24 hrs., or heat after that if it is really bothersome!

    Are you sure they happened at the same time?

  4. Just a cramp, it'll be over in two days. Completely normal.
