What does it mean when people say marco polo when there in the pool playing with friends?

It's like playing hide n go seek except you're in the water. Marco means not ready wlile polo means you are.

It's a game.  One person keeps their eyes closed and others must avoid getting tagged by this person.  When the person with their eyes closed yells Marco the others reply polo.  If you get tagged then it's your turn to close your eyes and try to tag someone else.  Other rules I remember as a kid is you can't get out of the pool and have to reply which marco is called if you hear it.  Here is a link on it
