  1. It probably means one of a couple things.

Player(s) letting their teammates know that the returning ball is going to go out and not to play it.

Could be the strong side hitter telling the setter to set out [to them].

Or it could be the setter telling the hitters she's setting out.

Could be a player telling their blockers to block out.

  2. It's to let another player know that the ball is heading out of bounds so that player knows to let it go and not try to hit it, if it was sent from the other team.

  3. it means that the ball is outside of the volleyball court and that it shouldn't be played. you may notice though that sometimes the people playing call out but it is in the court or someone hits the ball when it is out this is just a miscommunication on the court. if a player hits the ball when it is out of bounds its okay just as long as it doesn't hit the floor on their side of the court. hope this helped

  4. Its communication between teammates about the ball location. The player close to the ball maybe and should be looking up at the ball. They don't have time to look down and see if its outside the line or not so their teammates will yell..."OUT" if it looks to be long or wide of the court.

  5. well if someone from the other team hits the ball and it lands outside the boundary lines on your side of the net, the point goes to you, so you dont want to touch a ball that is going out. your basically telling your teammates not to touch the ball because the ball is going out of the boundary lines, which would give you the point.

  6. It could mean a few things:

    1)  Most likely it's a communication between players on the same team to alert the rest of the team that the ball will be traveling out of bounds and advising them NOT to attempt to play the ball.

    2) It could be advice between blockers that the set from the opposing team is being pushed to the outside hitter.

i.e. Offensive team pass is not great the setter only has one option - a set to the outside.  Someone on the defensive team yells 'OUT', (as in 'Hey! The set's going to the outside hitter!') and subsequently two or three blockers shift to the right hand side of the court, to put up a huge block.

  7. It means don't play the ball, it's going out.

  8. It means that the ball is heading out of bounds.

When someone yells this, don't touch the ball or go for it because it will be your point and side out if the ball goes out.

  9. When a serve doesn't make it on the other side of the net or even slightly touches the net, If one side touches the ball more than three times. If the same person touches it more than once. If you do an incorrect serve or pass. Hurt someone on purpes.
