ok..but what did "Daddio" mean in the 60's?

  1. Lol, yeah, it's a term of address used by Beats (beatniks) in the 1950's. Eg: we might now say "Dude, that's great!", whereas back then they might say "Boss, Daddy-O".

    Daddy-O was 50's slang - a way to address someone (usually an older man who one didn't really respect much.)

    Today it would be something like "Dude".

    Urban Dictionary:  Daddy-O

    Mid 50's to mid-60's beatnik/hipster slang.

    Somewhat equivalent to today's "dude" or "man" but with a much cooler zen-bohemian and/or streetwise hipster attitude.
