What does it mean when someone calls you naca/naco ?

you know how some people say in spanish "hay que naca eres!" or they just call you naca or call come one else naca ...what does it mean??

It means that you don't have 'class' on dressing, or talking, i.e. using a chinesse Mont Blanc type watch, or talking using spanish slang even though you are in a nice restaurant. It is not neccesary linked to the money you have, but to the culture you show....

Naco or naca (femenine) is not a bad word, but it refereres to the people with poor and low culture, ignorants, unpolites, that wear ugly clothes and speak bad spanish (of course, they write it bad). Hope you understand. This is used only in Mexico as far as I know.

Calling someone naco or naca is the same as calling a person a hick in English. Nacos are uneducated and uncouth people who are ignorant of social and civic rules. Poor manners, bad taste in clothing and general ignorance are considered "nacadas" ; things a naco would do.

For the people who equate nacos with "white trash": yes there is a certain trashiness to nacos, but they are comparable to the trash of all races, not just the white.

Nacos are generally considered to be working class or farm labor types, but I can tell you from personal experience that many of the "fresas" and "juniors" ( upper middle class and noveau riche snobs)  here in Mexico are just as much nacos as the servants who clean my house.

It is a word that has so many meanings. I will try to explain:

If someone puts a hairy rug on the steering wheel of his car.

If someone hangs his daughters little shoe on the mirror of his car. If someone wears golden chains outside of his shirt.

If someone swims in his underwear.

If someone takes tacos to the movie theater.

If someone wears white socks with black pants.

If someone wears dark eyeglasses in a closed place.

If someone uses language inappropriately.

If someone practices slam during a soccer game.

All of these things are part of being a NACO.

naco is basically "white trash."  here in the US we think wearing tank top tees, or drinking beer in the afternoon, or saying "ain't none" is trashy..and mexicans have the same thing...which they call naco.  it's basically an under educated, or classless person, doing or saying things that are just...trashy.

whereas here we associate it more with places, and not money....in mexico, money is usually tied to everything.  so it's safe to say that poor people often get called nacos as well as country people.

there is a clothing company called "NA/CO." which has popularized the term and made it sort of "cool" and trendy.  they have shirts such as "I Love DF" or "Ser Naco esta chido" and stuff like that.  or like "Wrong Guey" or "Mojado" or "Estar Wars"...just shirts that some think are funny, but maybe actual nacos think are rude, or they don't even get it.
