What does it mean when someone gets called a "sandwich" on the Jim Rome Show?

He refers to the sandwich that caused Mama Cass Elliott (of the Mamas and Papas) to choke on. The story goes, she was eating a ham sandwich when it went down the wrong pipe and choked her to death. Rome will remark, "Well it wasn't a salad she choked on!"

He's referring to her body weight - which was 3X large. I think it's his way of calling someone an idiot. he has numerous ways to to that and enjoys doing it often

I havent heard that term, but i only listen to Rome once in a while. im not a full time clone, lol.
