What does it mean when someone has a tattoo of the letter A on their hand?

It means they are stupid.  I have tattoos, (5) but none on my hands, where everyone can see them and judge you and just think, "Wow...that person has absolutely no self respect."  It's almost as bad as having a tattoo on your face.

It may be there to cover up those stupid three dots in a triangle tatts...which is a gang thing and means "my crazy life".

It could mean anything. Maybe there were more letters and they can only afford to have one letter removed at a time. It could be the first letter of some word or name that is important to them or maybe they want to be like Hawthrone's character. Just ask the person. The tat is visible so I am sure they shouldn't mind if you ask and would probably enjoy the attention. If they didn't want an attention getter then they would have put it in a more hidden area.
