What does it mean when someone has connected to you in yahoo answers?

Usually it means they liked one or more of your answers and want to follow what else you might say.  If you wanted to connect with them, click on their avatar, and you can see if they are allowing people to email or text them.

get on yahoo messenger for the web. oh! you might have to have their address,

That means they want to add you as a friend.  You can add them, check your email and click add as friend. On Y!A, click on their profiles, and either go to Email whoever, or IM whoever.
