  1. found this site for golf terms. It may help

    http://golf-equipment-news.com

never heard of this exact term used with a putter.....

  2. The hosel is the part that connects the shaft to the putter head.

I googled it and found only one place that sells it, so I think it's just another gimmick to get you to upgrade your club.

  3. Pretty much just what it says - the shaft fits over the hosel of the club.  Most modern putters the shaft is offset from the clubface but 25 years ago and more the shaft was in line with the face and most were "over the hosel".  At the time the term didn't exist that I recall, (I've been playing since 1962) because all putters were like that.  Now that most are offset they have come up with a term for the older style.

  4. older putters had over the hosel shafts , the shaft cic not go into the head. the head was solid with a pin going into the shaft , the saft had a bell mouth shape to fit over the hosel . this system can be noted if you compare a 70s style putter to the  new style putters were you vcan see the shaft enter the hosel . out dated but still great putters for slow greens the wilson 8803 and  8813  were the most desirable when golf collectors , were paying ridicoulus money for these , over hosel putter ben crenshaw , greg norman . shafts still avaible ,, bullsye models also
