  3. Several different meanings from the way I understand it: either they are getting cross/frustrated, feeling under pressure and not coping with the situation or my personal favourite you are getting them very excited causing them to heat up with lust for you

  8. In ancient times coal was a precious commodity.  When someone did something really fantastic for you one appropriate response was to drop a burning coal into their shirt collar.  They would respond with "You are making em hot under my collar"  which was like saying "Thank you".
