What does it mean when someone talks to themselves constantly?

Every time I am alone I talk to myself. I can have a full conversation with myself. Why do I do this?

it could mean you are lonely or maybe it is because you are overwhelmed by the stupidity of other people you have to talk to yourself to bring yourself back up to normality

Maybe because you are alone and have no one to talk to. I always end up debating with myself out loud
