What does it mean when someone types "first" or "second" in a forum?

I've seen this a lot. I know what bump means but what do these mean.

They answer the question or posted before anyone else.. kinda dumb

It means, "I wanted to be the first person to comment on this, but since it would actually take time to write a well-thought-out meaningful comment, and someone might get there ahead of me, and because I want to be first,  I am just going to write the word 'first' and slap return."

Some forums consider this to be akin to littering, taking up space and providing no value, and it devalues the blog by making it appear to be filled with content that is empty and mind-dulling.

A person browsing a forum that is filled with comments like "first" or "second" is not going to stay around for long.

they have nothing else to post and want to be the first or second person posting a response...kinda dumb, really...

It means they are the first or second person to respond to that particular post.  Seriously.  That's what it means.

I think it means that on a post,you are the first to answer it,or the second.
