  1. You have a direct short. Chances are you output speaker wires are not hooked up right! Pos. goes to Pos. ...neg. 2 neg. or perhaps the speaker wires are pinched somewhere.

  2. sometime could be a short somewhere on the wiring. most times it is because of your speakers there not wired right to the amp. make sure you have the ohms right

  3. the first thing you will be told at circuit city is that this is a short.

this is the main reason we do not go to circuit city for car audio :-D

go to a legit retail audio store and have them see.

i would say, without knowing the setup or anything out of experience that you may need a new ground.

a poor grounding is one of the most common issues i see with people who set up their own system. if this is the problem, simply move your grounding spot to a bigger piece of flat metal (brush off the outer paint layer when grounding to give better metal - metal contact) ground wires should be as short as possible

another possibility is your power wire is too small gauge

what kind of amp do you have with what size power wire?

another big possibility is that your speaker wires are touching eachother somewhere, sending back signal to the amp causing it to protect so that it doesnt blow

check all your wire connections with the amp and assure that none are touching another connector on the amp or touching eachother anywhere
