What does it mean when the sky is yellow, or green

We had a yellow sky in Illinois recently, and it was after there had been a severe thunderstorm. The color tint of the sky (yellow or green) is due to the scattering of light when the sky is wet. When it's dry, the sky is blue, but before or after a heavy storm or a tornado, the light from the sky scatters differently.

I've spent near on 35 years in Kansas and a fair bit of that outside; when the sky turns green, it's gonna get wet. Maybe hail, maybe tornadoes, but definitely rain and strong winds. When the sky turns green, we usually grab a beer and run outside, because the sky's putting on a show; ain't nowhere to run anyway, so you might as well watch the world go to h**l. Can't recall a yellow sky, but jade, aquamarine, and a deep sea-green stand out in my mind. Maybe the ANZACs have seen the yellow sky, ask them.

the sky's where green. i heard a loud whistle than i saw a thin rope emerge from the sky. it was a tornado. when the sky is green it means tornado.
