  1. If an umpire warns both benches that usually means he is suspicious of a brawl that may happen. this usually happens when a batter is hit, and the team of that batter gets fired up about it

  2. The warning is to both teams to keep it fair, and to let them know that if it happens again, there will be ejections to follow.

  3. He was preventing retaliation from my Twins.  When the royals plunked a Twins batter, you better be certain gardy was gonna plunk him back.  So the ump warned both teams that if another batter gets hit, out of the game.

  4. Often times, its because there was already anomosity brewing between these two before the guy got hit.

Its very common when one hitter gets hit by a ball, the following inning the victim's team tends to return teh favor and thats when brawls happen. The umpire did the veteran thing to do adn thats to warn both benches rite away so no future brawl happens.

  5. They're basically warning both teams to get their act together or someone is coming out of the game.

  6. It means they cant throw in to a batter. if they do and if they hit him the umpire will eject that pitcher.

    for intelliaonly hitting

  7. The pitcher from both the Royals & Twins could get ejected if the ump sees that another batter was hit intentionally. This is to prevent a brawl or something worse.
