  1. collagen is bone and skin tissue from animals

it is used to make jello, gummy bears, etc

  2. My school text-book definition is-

Collagen: a water-insoluble protein found in connective tissue found in skin, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage, it yields gelatin's when cooked with moist heat. Gelatin: a colorless, odorless and flavorless mixture of proteins from animal bones, connective tissues as well as from certain algaes, when dissolved in a hot liquid and then cooled, it forms a jelly-like substance that is used as a thickener and stabilizer in molden desserts, cold soups, and Chaud froid creations and the like and as a fining agent in beer and wine.

  4. consuming collagen is good for your skin. the candy brand was advertising that their product has collagen so it would entice consumers to try their products

  5. Collagen is a protein found in connective tissue, skin, hair, and nails.  Not just in people, but in other animals, too.  If the manufacturer is promoting the presence of collagen, they are probably marketing it to health-conscious people who think that eating a protein found in skin and hair promotes healthy skin and hair.
