  1. POUND FOR POUND-i.e the better deal within the same portions.

    think of it like this.

    - ten pounds of gold

    -ten pounds of silver.

    (pound for pound the gold is better than the silver.)


  2. Let's say you have a guy that is 135 lb. fighter.  He is good at every aspect (striking, grappling, defense, etc.).

    He might lose to a guy who is a 205lb. fighter because of the strength and power differences (a heavier fighter only needs to hit him once to knock him out).

    The lighter guy might still be a better fighter, as in more skills, so he would be better " pound for pound ".

    That doesnt mean lighter weight fighters are better, it's just a saying.

  4. pound for pound means that in terms of fighting skill he is better than all fighters no matter what weight class they are in.
