I should mention that I am a Freshman and there's 1 setter on the varsity team and two setters on the JV team that are floaters.

  1. You will "float" between both teams. Some games you will play Varsity; other games you will play JV.

  2. It basically means that you're on varsity, but you will get absolutely no playing time so you play w/ the jv team. It's harsh, but the truth.

  3. it means u will go from one team to the next.

some games ull be on JV, then on some others, ull be on Varsity.

    :)

  4. Our team was in this same situation last year! Our coach played both of our setters on both teams because she wanted them to get as much playing time and in-game experience as possible. They were both freshman players because our senior setter had a knee injury. Don't take it as your coach saying that you aren't good enough to just be on varsity. Be grateful that you get to play more than some girls and take advantage of the time on both teams. The more you play, the better player you can become!!

  5. you are a stand-in. in the event of another team member being injured or not able to play, you will play for that person. Most likely alot of time on the bench. Or you will "float" from team to team as they need you.
