What does it mean when you dream that you was bitten by a snake?

I had a dream that a dog bit on my right hand but then as the dream continued, the dog became a green snake with a yellow head. (i did not notice the change until i woke up) there were others in the dream but the snake only wanted to bite me. At the end of the dream I remember being in a room that looked like a computer where other people were. everyone in the room was a agreeing on the snakes color being green with a yellow head. I was told to keep moving my hand so I wont loose the ability function with it. I woke up and my right hand was still hurting. Earlier that night my girlfriend had a dream about a snake but was not bitten.

being bitten = being criticized
