What does it mean when you get a text message from a ringtone website that says "std carrier rates apply?"?

I got ringtone from myxer, but i just want to know if my phone service will charge me.

  1. U will not be charged for the ringtone u downloaded but for the kb's u downloaded


  2. it will cost alot. Once I downloaded a ringtone from myxertones and it cost me $10 and i have unlimited texting

  3. It means that your wireless provider is going to charge you the standard rate for a text.  And if you download a ring tone, then they will charge you the rate for a data call.

Yep, they will charge you.  The charge is going to be the going rate for the ring tone, going on the internet, etc...Unless you have a plan with a specified amount of data usage or internet usage.  If you have unlimited internet, than you wouldn't have to worry about the amount of time or data it takes.  

  6. Yes, you will be charged for receiveing the message. It will probably cost the amount of a text or picture message.
