What does it mean when you respect yourself?

like , i gotta do an essay "Name one person you respect and why you respet he or her/ what he does/ what you can be to be more like them.

if you are choosing yourself out of everyone you know...thats kinds being disrespectful of others...respecting yourself is when you have standards and you don't let them be compromised by anyone or anything.  I think you can find someone that you respect and want to be more like...your parents, teacher, past teacher, principal, best friend, cancer survivor, etc.

Im sure your teacher didn't mean self respect.   Respect is a thing of the past, it boils down to caring about people.   If you have to ask what self respect is,  you probably shouldn't write the essay about yourself.

your teacher probably wasn't talking about self respect.  say you respect your parents because they care about you or something.  after all they broght you into this world.  and they raised you.  and they were a pain in the but to you the entire way.  i would say my mom because she is easiest for me to write an essay on.  Hope this helps!  =)
