What does it mean when you try and open a zipped folder and it says like 'Extract All', 'Run', 'Cancel' Help!!

What do I do? I don't want any viruses or problems or anything,

  1. Just "Extract All" like the message suggests, then you can decide how to proceed.

    Get a decent anti-virus too..


  2. If it wants to run, it is a program. If it is a program and you thought it was something else, it's malware.

  3. I wouldn't extract anything from a zip folder that I can't see. They look like a folder with a zipper down the front. I always right click on them and click Scan with AVG (my security suite). It only takes a second or so. then I right click again and click Extract All. It takes a few seconds and you can see the progress in the box that opens. The files are put in a folder within the folder that the zip folder is in unless you tell the computer to put them somewhere else. A folder is automatically created for the unzipped files wherever you put them. Then you can move them where you want

  4. Just click extract all, that's how you unzip a zip file.

  5. It means that it will extract or show the files in the folder not in compressed mode. It will let you show the original files. anyway, if your anti-virus is on, it will promt when it detected virus after extraction.
