  1. It means that you are guilty but your sentence is put on hold for a certain period of time.And if you stay clean for that priod you will be let off. but if you cause more trouble you will recieve that sentence plus whatever added time.


  2. It depends on your crime but it usually means that you are not given an immediate punishment. You will probably have to check in with a probation officer or the court system periodically. However, as long as you don't do anything else wrong, you will probably not have to serve any time in jail.

You were charged with a crime and apparently found guilty and was given a suspended sentence for the crime.  You should have been informed by your attorney or the court how long your suspended sentence was for and what the conditions are that you must follow in order to avoid serving the suspended sentence in addition to any new time for additional charges.
