What does it mean when your coughing up blood ?

It means you need to get off the computer and go to the doctor's or hospital as soon as possible.  There are many reasons for coughing up blood.. cancer, TB, blood clot .. it needs to be checked out NOW.

Depends on your age/frequency/duration/amount

Most importantly, to exclude cancer.

Will need an xray at the minimum, if the amount of blood coughed out is significant.
