What does it mean when your gum?

... When a part of the gum is only sensitive to brushing it with a tooth brush? does it mean your brushing too hard? or cavities ?

  1. you might have a gum infection, check with you dentist


  2. If you feel sensitivity it is on the tooth, I would recommend using a soft toothbrush and sensodyne TP. Hard brushing causes the gums to recede and exposes softer part of the tooth (dentin). You could get a filling to cover that area however it is not a cavity (unless you notice a color change such as brown then it may be a cavity). Needless to say use the sensodyne and the sensitivity should diminish with time.

    If it is your gums that are sore/bleeding then it may be that you have tartar under the gums and is causing irritation. A dental cleaning is recommended then.

  3. im not exactly sure...but i think it could mean ur brushing too hard or u hav a gum infection...im not a dentist or anything so yea...but if its swollen or sumthing u mite wanna go to c one...hope this helps... :)
