From the past couple of months, my knee has been aching, crackles, and pops. It really hurts. I went to the emergency room one night but i left because they were packed and kept on getting ambulances every 5 minutes. But I was wondering if anybody knew what it is. It hurts really really bad. If anybody has any ideas what it is, please tell me. Thank you and have a great day.

  1. Might be arthritis?

  2. You did not give your age but it sounds like worn cartilage.  Forget the ER go to an orthopedist.  It could be arthritis.  The pain is swelling inside the kne.  Take Ibuprofin (Advil) and Ice the knee for 20 minutes on - 20 minutes off for a bit and see how it feels.

  3. It is usually the cartilage breaking up.  An accident can do it, or aging does it too.

I started having that problem early in 2000.  I started taking Glucosamine Chondroitin to re-build the cartilage.  It takes about eight weeks, but the pain went away.  I got more "spring" in my knees too.

You can buy at about any pharmacy.  I get it at Walmart pharmacy.  Just go by the directions on the bottle.

  4. get a similar problems in my knees from early artritsis, parcetomol or ibruprfon will do the job.

i dnt suggest ice either as some time cold can make it hurt a lot more

i suggest going to your doctors to get it checked out

  5. my knee does that when i bend it...im currently going to a knee surgeon and i have to have lateral release surgery...basically my knee cap doesnt ride where its suppose to and it goes off to the side and stuff...weird...but it sounds all crunchy and really loud when i bend it...lol...i would reccommend going to a knee doctor.
