What does it mean when your period lasts for more than 2 weeks?

My Friend started her period 2 years ago. she had a normal period but this one kept on goig and going. Now its like been a month.What does this mean?

It's known as an irregular cycle. If this keeps happening, your friend can go on low dose birth control pills to help her get her periods regulated again.

Irregular periods can be common after menarche...this will settle down eventually. If her periods are regularly over 7 days in duration then your friend needs to see her Dr as this can sometimes lead to iron deficiency anaemia
