What does it mean your ac smells like smoke?

when i turn on my air conditioner it smells like smoke. Does this mean that it is finished????

where there is smoke there is fire get proffesional help before turning back on

It may not be finished yet but sounds like you need to get someone out to ck it out-- you may have just fried  some relays.

could be worse .could smell like booze also

It means your blower motor is , or has burnt. There is probably nothing wrong with your a/c so don't allow it to run until you get the motor replaced. Good luck.

Old joke: All motors come with a charge of smoke packed inside....You just let it out, so the motor is no good.
